Dave attended last night’s MTV Movie Awards and I have added 20+ high quality images from the show where he went on stage with Zac Efron as their characters from “Neighbors”. Proceed with caution. I warned you. Thanks to Lindsey for sending some of these over.

‘Neighbors’ Alternate Opening Clip

written by DeAdele XIII.IX

YAHOO.COM – The Seth Rogen-Zac Efron hit Neighbors was a crude, raunchy comedy riot, and it turns out there was even more crudeness and raunchiness left on the cutting room floor. In fact, director Nicholas Stoller shot two entire opening sequences that never saw the dark of movie theaters.

Both will be available on the Neighbors DVD and Blu-ray (available Sept. 23), and you can watch the first scene exclusively above. In the theatrical version, Efron and Dave Franco’s Delta Psi Beta fraternity has just relocated next door to Rogen, Rose Byrne, and family. We know they were kicked out of their previous house, but it’s never made clear what their infractions and/or indiscretions were.

The alternate opening scene above shows them, mid-party, rounding up the necessary booty (shrooms, cash, moonshine, a copy of The King’s Speech) to make an epic trade with a campus dealer. Spoiler alert: They’re buying military grade explosives, and what follows is an explosively funny fireworks display well worth the cost of house expulsion — or at the very least, a Blu-ray.

WeGotThisCovered Exclusive Video Interview with the Cast of “Neighbors”

written by DeAdele VIII.V

2014 has been pretty disappointing thus far for comedy, but Nicholas Stoller’s Neighbors is looking to change all that. If the name doesn’t sound familiar, then allow us to refresh your memory. Mr. Stoller is the same man who previously brought us side-splitting comedies like Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Get Him To The Greek, two of the funniest films of the last decade. This time around, he’s assembled one hell of a cast to lead the way. With Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, and Dave Franco all flexing their comedic chops at full strength, the laughs are huge in Neighbors, and they just keep coming.

The film follows Rogen and Byrne as Mac and Kelly Radner, a young couple who have just moved into a new home with their baby daughter. All is peaceful and idyllic in their lives until a frat, led by Efron’s Teddy, moves in next door. In hopes of keeping the peace, so to speak, Mac and Kelly attempt to befriend the young group of boys now living only feet away from them. Their plan works at first, but after the frat parties a bit too hard one night, and Mac is forced to call the cops on them, all hell breaks loose and a war begins between the two households.

Last weekend, the cast of Neighbors arrived in NYC for the film’s press day. While there, we were lucky enough to land an exclusive interview with Rogen, Byrne, Efron, Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Jerrod Carmichael, who were all a delight to chat with. They spoke about pushing the envelope with their comedy, crossing boundaries, working with babies on set and much more.

Check it out in the video above and be sure to catch Neighbors when it hits theatres this Friday! We promise that the film will have you in stitches.

Dave Shares the One Dirty Joke that was too Filthy for Neighbors

written by DeAdele VIII.V

CINEMABLEND.COM – The “hard R” comedy is a rare beast. Studios went through a phase where ribald comedies were watered down so executives could chase the more lucrative PG-13 audience. In the process, they neutered once edgy comedians like Eddie Murphy and Robin Williams, to name two. The Hangover helped change things, however, illustrating to studio heads that mature audiences would show up to support foul-mouthed comedies so long as they were funny. And Neighbors — Hollywood’s latest proud-to-be-rated-R comedy – is damn funny.

Dave Franco helps ensure that Neighbors earns big laughs. The younger sibling of Oscar-nominated actor-director James Franco, Dave has been carving out his own niche in movies like 21 Jump Street (and its sequel), Warm Bodies and Now You See Me. In Neighbors, he plays Pete, partner-in-crime to head fraternity boss Teddy (Zac Efron), and the perpetual thorn in the sides of suburban parents Mac (Seth Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Rose Byrne).

Neighbors is a scripted comedy. Andrew J. Cohen and Brendan O’Brien receive screenwriting credit, though Franco’s candid when he tells me that a lot of their lines are improvised in the moment.

“We’re trying 100 jokes for each scene,” Franco told me during a recent interview on behalf of Neighbors, which opens in theaters on Friday. “I don’t remember half of the stuff that we did, to be honest. It’s always interesting, when there is a film that has so much exploration while you’re filming, to see the finished cut and to see which joke they finally landed on. … And with a movie like this, you’re almost disappointed by which joke they go with because you know how many jokes you attempted to do. Obviously, you can’t put all of the jokes in there. You have to choose one!”

Was there a joke he remembers trying that he really wishes they kept in?

“There is,” he tells me. “There’s a joke where – I’m still not sure if I ever said it out loud or if I was just thinking it. But during the montage where we’re getting back at Seth and Rose, and we cut their bush into the shape of a guy bending over, I wanted to say the line, ‘I’m sorry. I went down on a hippie chick last night, and was inspired to trim bush.’ I wish that was in there.”

Needless to say, it didn’t make the cut.

Dave Franco didn’t stop there. Click on to find out the one Neighbors joke he really wishes wasn’t included in the film’s marketing campaign.
